I enjoyed this virtual dog show. I think this virtual dog show is a brilliant idea. Martina wanted to make it easy for me by making a list with points. The problem is to draw the line . In how many parts are you going to divide the dog. What is a good stop worth 9 points or 10 points? And what is worth more points, good ear placement or tail set ? So finally I decided not to bother to much about the points and just go for breedtype .
So I decided to write my comments next to giving points. Although it was not easy for me to judge. Sometimes the position of the photo was not right and that makes it hard to see the balance . I started with the photo’s but than some dogs moved better than I expected after seeing the photo’s . In real life I could touch the dogs and that could confirm what I saw or not and that would influence my judging. Some dogs I had to see over and over again on the video. Below my final judgement and I like to explain that. Some of the dogs could swap places but just like at real show, It is the decision I made at that moment in this competition. That makes showing fun and every show is a new opportunity because there will be other dogs.
ADULT CLASS
Adult class: following order : 35, 43, 36, 30, 10, 57
Lots of dogs of nice quality so I will pull out a few that struck my eye for the final line up : 10,30, 35,36,41,43,44,57 . They stood out because of their breed type : which is a combination of size ,type of head , shape and soundness. Nice to see that some dogs collected more points than the champion dogs. Which is correct because I think some dogs in the open class are good enough to become champions .
Again it is a pity that I could not touch the dogs . Judging is not easy and often a dilemma. and touching the dogs might change the following order.
My first is nr. 35 A very feminine bitch with a lovely shape. On the move she keeps her topline and the back is tighter on the move than it looks on the photo. I love her excellent angulated front that stands well under the body. When you look at the balance of a dog and especially the front , you can draw a line through the withers and front legs. I love to see a lot of dog in front of that. Than a dog usually has good angulations and a fore chest .
The following three dogs have the same points. They are all of excellent quality and of a lovely breedtype but they differ in minor details. Some had better photo’s standing than others . So in the final judgement I tried to compare them on the move .
Second in this class is the glamorous sable dog in the bloom of his life and a abundant coat of a rich orange colour nr. 43 . He has a beautiful head with very high set ears , which tip lovely forwards! On the photo standing I would like to see his front a little more under the body but on the move he has a lovely long stride in front and good drive in rear. So it could be the angle of the photo. Again I would like to touch him. I Just like a longer tail.
Third in this class is the elegant sable dog of excellent breedtype. He has a nice head a smiling expression and well set ears. He is very correct on the move .
Forth in class is the tricolour dog nr. 30: with a striking head. He has the best head of this class with a sweet eye that is medium size and almond shaped. Still I have the feeling that he can mature a bit more. I love his elegant flowing outline and excellent construction. His movement is smooth, easy with drive and good stride. I like to see him happier.
Fifth is the very feminine bitch nr. 10 who stands perfect on the photo. Showing her excellent angulations and lovely front . Next to that she has a very sweet expression. Maybe she could move a touch faster for more drive and show off her excellent contruction Number six in this class is the well constructed and masculine shaded sable dog nr. 57 . I love his overall balance which he shows on the move . Tail should not be carried higher . Very correct and masculine in head and lovely ears. Showed very happy.
